ARUNACHAL PRADESH: TRAINING ON ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION HELD IN NAMSAI

A one-day training programme on energy efficiency and energy conservation was organized at DC’s conference hall on May 25th by APEDA, Namsai. Thirty officials from various Government departments participated in the training programme which was sponsored by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Government of India.

While speaking on the occasion, Orin Lego, SDO (Civil), Namsai acknowledged the need to go for energy conservation and energy efficiency practices in our day to day life in view of the fast depleting natural resources like coal, petroleum products, and natural gas. There is a standing instruction from the Government of Arunachal Pradesh for all the Government / Semi Government offices and institutions to replace all the conventional energy consuming electrical equipments with the energy efficient ones, Lego informed. He appreciated APEDA, Namsai for its untiring effort in popularising the renewable energy practices through various programme like solar power plants, biogas.

G Subraruaryarn, Director, SIRI Energy & Carbon Advisory Services (P) Ltd, Hyderabad was the resource person. Earlier, while welcoming the participants, Er A K Rana, Project Officer, APEDA requested the departments to approach APEDA for conducting electrical load assessment survey in their offices and institutions for getting the conventional electrical equipments replaced by the energy efficient ones.
