ASSAM: CM DISTRIBUTED 13 LAKH SOIL HEALTH CARDS

The Assam government has distributed over 13 lakh Soil Health Cards so far. Participating in an AIR talk show on 2nd June as a topic on four years of Modi government , Assam Agriculture Director M S Manivannan said that 2.84 lakh Soil samples have been tested . He also said that 1 lakh shallow tubewells to be distributed in subsidized rate to farmers to double their income .

Mr. Manivannan said that Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal has initiated to make Majuli as the organic district of the state and 5 crore rupees have been sanctioned for this. He further said that 28 percent growth has been registered during last year in paddy production and 25 percent in oil seeds.
