ASSAM: HISTORIAN BAKUL CHANDRA BASUMATARY PASSES AWAY

Famous Bodo writer and historian Bakul Chandra Basumatory passed away on Tuesday at around 9.30 P.M at his residence in Mumbai. Basumatary was the Retired Legal Advisor of Reserve Bank of India and also the Regional Director National Housing Board. The noted writer was hailing from Gossaigoan from Kokrajhar District of Assam.

It can also be noted that the Basumatary has 12 books to his credit, including Geeta – translation in Bodo. He also deals with various issues relating to definitions of Kamarupa and Pragjyotishpur. Bakul Chandra Basumatary was also an advocate of Mumbai High Court and Vice President of World Bodo Historical Society.
