ASSAM: RAM KRISHNA TALUKDAR SELECTED FOR SANGEET NATAK AKADEMI AWARD

In another proud moment for the state, three artists from Assam have been selected for the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards 2017.

Satriya dance artist Ramkrishna Talukdar from Guwahati, the Art and Craft maestro Nuruddin Ahmed and Xattriya dance maestro from Barpeta Jagannath Bayan shall be conferred with the award by the President.

The Satriya dance maestro hailing from Assam is the first Sattriya artist to have acquired a grade accreditation from DDK, New Delhi. It can also be noted that his book “Nritya Kala Darpan” has been recognized by SEBA as their syllabi text book.

INSIDENE speaking to the dance guru Ram Krishna Talukdar, he stated that while receiving the greatest award from the field of culture he is motivated to work more. He also said that he is quite privileged to receive the award and thanking his dance gurus for their support.
