ASSAM: WORLD THYROID DAY AWARENESS, LECTURE AND MEDICAL CAMP ORGANISED BY ARMY IN KOKRAJHAR

Troops of Red Horns Division organised a "World Thyroid Day, lecture and medical camp" at Kachugaon, Kokrajhar district, today.

The programme organised for the general awareness regarding Thyroid disease, and keeping surrounding environment clean. Further precautionary measures which are to be taken were talked about in detail by a Medical Officer.

This was followed by a thorough medical checkup of all civilians present, and a rally for awareness was taken out by students of Kachugaon higher secondary school.

The enthusiasm was evident, both in terms of zeal and strength, as approximately 300 people; including students, teachers, and local villagers participated in the medical camp.

These small efforts by the Army, apart from raising awareness on health issues, also go a long way in carving a permanent place in the hearts and minds of the local population. Slowly and steadily, the Army is achieving its aim of overall development of the area where they're deployed.
