Baba ka Dhaba owner Kanta Prasad attempts suicide out of 'depression'

NEW DELHI: The viral 'Baba ka Dhaba' owner Kanta Prasad was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital last night following a suicide bid as revealed by police.

Reportedly, police received a PCR call last night about a man who attempted suicide and admitted to the hospital. When police rushed to the spot found out that it was none other than Kanta Prasad.

According to Kanta Prasad's wife Badami Devi, Kanta Prasad had been depressed for the past few days and tried to eat something, of which she is not aware.

Kanta Prasad came to fame after his one video gone viral posted by a YouTuber pledging viewers to help the poor couple and also asked to make donations for the two as well. The video made Kanta Prasad famous overnight and his business saw a hike as well.

Later Kanta Prasad lodged an FIR against the same YouTuber accusing him of misappropriating money that was raised to help him and his wife.

Kanta Prasad then opened a restaurant last December which he had to close after a few months due to the loss he faced and had to go back to the road stall again from where he started.

The YouTuber who made him viral came to see Baba again last week and Kanta Prasad apologised to him with teary eyes touching his feet.
