Gangtok, March 25, 2015:

Former Indian football team striker Bhaichung Bhutia on Sunday auctioned off two of his football jerseys in order to raise funds for his Hamro Sikkim Party (HSP) to contest the party’s first election in the state of Sikkim.

The first jersey is the one he wore in the ‘Match against Poverty’ organized by the United Nations Development Programme and the second is the one that he wore during his last match against German football giants Bayern Munich. Baichung also took to Twitter to announce that he will also be accepting funds online.

Bhutia’s Hamro Sikkim party was formed on March 31 in 2018 and its policies are oriented towards the youth of Sikkim.

It may be mentioned that Sikkim will head to the polls on 11 April and the results will be declared on 23 May. 32 Assembly Constituencies and a sole Lok Sabha seat will be at stake.
