GUWAHATI: The girl (victim) of the viral gang raped video who was identified as a citizen of Bangladesh was allegedly brutalised and raped by four men and a woman over financial differences, according to reports.
According to reports, the culprits brought the victim to India for human trafficking.
In a groundbreaking development, the Bengaluru police arrested the five main culprits including a woman involved in the sensational gang rape case.
All five have been arrested from Bengaluru's Ramaurthynagar where they were hiding in a flat.
Currently, the victim is away in a neighbouring state and a police team has been dispatched to track her down so that she may cooperate in the inquiry.
Moreover, the police said all culprits and the victim is from Bangladesh.
A case of rape, assault, and other relevant sections of the law has been filed against the accused based on the contents of the video and facts revealed during preliminary questioning of the secured individuals, according to the release.
The video is said to have surfaced from the 'deep web' and is currently spreading across several digital platforms, according to police.
However, in a media interaction, the Bangaladesh police stated that the brutal sexual assault incident took place three months back in Magh Bazar in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
One of the culprits told the local police that the video was filmed somewhere in India.
