GANGTOK: In continuation to the earlier order, the Sikkim government on Thursday said that all the educational institutions in the state will remain closed till July 31.
However, online classes will continue and a weekly reported is instructed to be submitted by the teaching faculty to their respective Head of the Institutions.

The decision was taken after after considering the current COVID scenario in the state as well as the possibilities of spread of infection among students.
In an official notification issued by the state education department it was stated, "all government, government aided, and private educational institutions, universities, colleges, tutorials, coaching institutes and hostels will continue to remain closed till July 31, 2021".
The state government has instructed all the Head of the institutions to explore possibilities of conducting semesteral tests, examinations or any such assessments through online or any other mode as per the convenience of the respective institutions.
They have been instructed to carry out the tests adhering to all the relevant COVID protocols.
