AGARTALA: The Tripura government has decided to continue COVID-19 curfew restrictions for another week as a spike of Coronavirus cases continue in the state, after evaluating the problem over the previous week.
In places under the control of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, the curfew restrictions will last the same period of time. While three municipalities have been added to similar curfew restrictions, four municipalities have had their restrictions lifted due to a substantial reduction in new infections.
Curfews were imposed in 12 municipalities, including AMC, till 5 a.m. on June 26 as per a previous decision.

According to an order issued by chief secretary Kumar Alok, the curfew would be in effect until 5 a.m. on July 3 in regions under the control of the Agartala Municipal Corporation and ten other civic authorities in Tripura.
In addition, if required, the concerned district magistrates may impose curfew restrictions elsewhere.
Curfews have been imposed in the Agartala Municipal Corporation, Ranirbazar Municipal Council, Jirania Nagar Panchayat, Udaipur Municipal Council, Kumarghat Municipal Council, Kailashahar Municipal Council, Panisagar Nagar Panchayat, and Khowai Nagar Panchayat regions, according to the new order.
Curfew areas' shops and markets will open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Gyms, shopping malls, movie theatres, swimming pools, beauty parlours, salons, and parks, on the other hand, will remain closed. Dhabas and restaurants, likewise, are permitted to stay open until 2 p.m.
