LONDON: As international concerns rise about the junta's increasingly violent crackdown on anti-coup protests, Britain today advised its people in Myanmar to leave the region.

The British people have been asked to leave the country by commercial means unless there is an urgent need to stay by the foreign, commonwealth, and development office said the British foreign ministry in a statement on its travel advice website.
