NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Home Affairs has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the suspicious deaths of Rosy Sangma (24) and Samuel Sangma from Nagaland.

Rosy Sangma died on June 24 after reportedly consuming ice cream in a Gurugram hospital's intensive care unit (ICU).

While her nephew Samuel Sangma was found dead in his hotel room a day after his aunt died.

Samuel used to reside with her aunt Rosy in Delhi.

Rosy was brought to the Alpha Hospital's ICU in Gurugram's Sector 10 after she complained of extreme pain in her hands and feet, as well as profuse bleeding.

Rosy's health improved at first, but it suddenly deteriorated after she had ice cream in the hospital ICU in presence of physicians. Later she died on June 24.

According to reports, Samuel got into an argument with hospital physicians and staff after his aunt's death accusing them of medical malpractice.

Meanwhile, Rosy's family members have also claimed that she died due to hospital malpractice and accused hospital staff of foul play in Samuel Sangma's death.

The incident sparked outrage in Delhi-NCR as well as the Northeast states.

Following the For case of two suspicious deaths, several ministers have written to MHA, requesting a probe.
