CM Conrad Sangma Promotes Meghalaya At Caux In Switzerland

Guwahati, June 28, 2019:

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad k Sangma visited Switzerland to attend a dialogue on Land and Security organized by the Caux Forum.

Meeting people from around the world, CM Conrad Sangma took it to the social media platform to express his experience and feeling after meeting Chris Evans.

Chris Evans who is a member of MRA was instrumental in guiding the leaders during the movement of Statehood of Meghalaya.

The Meghalaya CM posted a picture with a tweet: “Met Mr Chris Evans in Caux, Swizerland, a member of MRA which was instrumental in guiding our leaders during the movement of Statehood of Meghalaya. Mr Evans was a young 19 year old boy who was present in Shillong on the day Statehood was given to Meghalaya.”

In the event, Conrad Sangma took the opportunity to speak on the climate change and importance of the state which receives the highest rainfall and is blessed to initiate different developmental plans to benefit its people.

He also tweeted: "Spoke at #CauxForum #Switzerland on India’s goal on #ClimateChange and measures like policy on water to ensure that every household in our country has water at their doorstep."

 

He added: “World is talking about #SmartCities, we in India and particular #Meghalaya have initiated a policy to adopt villages and ensure different amenities and infrastructure is created in our villages. We are committed to provide opportunities to people living in villages. #CauxForum.”
