Tripura State Health and Family Welfare department has set up isolation units in all the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) battalion headquarters in order to screen the troops who have returned to the battalion after leave, IG TSR GK Rao informed.
“Since 9 of the 12 battalions of the state are of Indian Reserve (IR) battalions, their 25 percent of the job aspirants are from other states. Now many of them have gone for leave and upon their return, they will have to be isolated for sure. Otherwise, they may carry the contagion to the entire force”, Rao said.
Meanwhile, sources in the Border Security Force (BSF) also said that all the advisories issued by the state health department were being followed by the jawans posted in various bordering areas of the state.

In the meantime, according to data shared by the State Health department, altogether 2,696 passengers are under surveillance, among whom, 163 have completed the stipulated time of 14 days.
The rest 2,533 are still under surveillance. Altogether, 61 people have been hospitalized and 35 of then tested negative. The other samples have been sent to the labs and the department is waiting for the sample reports that are likely to reach the state on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, Dr Debasish Basu, Secretary Health, Tripura government, informed that a meeting had been convened in participation of the local traders. “It has appeared that the traders are facing some issues due to the lockdown. The small scale traders are finding it hard to move from one part to another part of the city. It has been directed from the part of government that all the traders association should issue ID cards which will be further validated by the respective sub-divisional magistrates so that the traders can access goods from wholesale markets”, he told reporters in civil secretariat. However, as of now, there are no confirmed COVID-19 cases in Tripura, Basu informed media.
