Dimapur: In a show of unity with the family of a 17-year-old girl who was murdered on October 22, a candle march was held on Sunday (October 25) at ADC court junction.
Participating in the event, leaders of various organisations expressed their grief and horror at the incident.
Dimapur Lotha Students’ Union (DLSU) president Benthungo Jungi said that the programme was organised to show unity and public support to the family of the deceased.
Terming the incident as “disheartening”, Jungi asserted that such reprehensible
deeds had absolutely no place in the society, even as he conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) president Sedevilie Angami extended solidarity to the bereaved and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
Appreciating the swift action by the police in nabbing the accused in connection with the incident,
the DNSU president demanded thorough investigation and trial, besides awarding befitting punishment to the culprits involved.

condolences to the bereaved and prayed to God to give them strength at this hour of sorrow.
The programme was chaired by SBC women leader Mhalo Kithan, while Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur associate pastor Yanbemo Ovung was the speaker.
