A team of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police jointly recovered a huge quantity of drugs worth Rs 150 crores in two separate operations launched in the state within a single day.

Based on specific inputs, an operation was launched by the troops of Assam Rifles at Sada Kumbi area in the Thoubal district.
Two individuals, who have been identified as Wungreingam Awungshi and Ning Khan, who was allegedly involved in illegally running an underground processing lab in the area, were arrested. The duo were also allegedly supplying drugs to youths in Manipur and Nagaland.
On further investigation, the joint team recovered approximately 41.3 Kg of heroin brown sugar (solid), 10 liters of morphinated (liquid), Rs. 2.8 lakhs cash and drug processing equipment.
According to the official reports, the assessed value of the recovered drugs is more than Rs. 150 crores.

In another operation, on December 2, an operation was launched at Khudengtabi where the troops of Assam Rifles intercepted a white Swift vehicle driven by a certain Mohammad Amar Shah.
On thorough checking of the vehicle, the team recovered 40,000 WIY tables worth more than Rs 1.2 Crore.
The apprehendees and the recoveries have been handed over to the police. Further investigation is on.
