FOURTEEN SHOPS GUTTED IN AGARTALA MARKET FIRE

Guwahati, October 25, 2018:

Fourteen shops were gutted in a fire that broke out at Battala market in Agartala on Thursday.

A pedestrian who spotted the fire early in the morning informed the fire brigade. Seven fire tenders were rushed to the market to douse the blaze.

No one was injured in the incident as the fire broke out in the early hours when the market remains closed. The prominent market at Battala houses shops that sell items such as garments, groceries, fruits, vegetables and fish.

A short-circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire.
