Security forces have recovered Gold worth Rs. 95 lakh in Tripura’s Agartala. They have arrested one in this connection, who was smuggling the heavy consignment.
Border Security Forces (BSF) and the Customs department had led a joint search operation at the city peripheries when they recovered around two-three kgs of gold biscuits amounting to Rs. 95 lakh.

They have arrested an individual, identified as Jahangir Miah. According to the security personnel, Miah was planning to smuggle the gold biscuits to the other part of the fencing at Gate No. 2 under the jurisdiction of BOP Jaynagar.

BSF DIG, AK Yadav said that Miah lived on the other side of the border. He informed that most of the people living along the border fences were actively engaged in trans-border smuggling.
