Horrific accident in Imphal leaves 2 injured; video captured by CCTV camera

IMPHAL: A horrific accident in Manipur capital Imphal left a duo severely injured after they were buried underneath soil that fell from a truck that swerved and toppled off the road.

The accident occurred at the Wahengbam Leikai area, which is in the very heart of Imphal city. The entire incident was recorded by a CCTV camera.

Footage shows that a couple riding on a scooter tried to make a U-turn coming from the opposite side t lose control. The truck driver in his attempt to avoid hitting the scooter off-roaded and the vehicle turned turtle.

Unfortunately for the couple on the scooter, however, the soil that the truck was carrying directly fell onto them, burying them underneath. A city police team and locals rescued the couple and shifted them to a nearby hospital.

According to reports, both the injured persons are stable now.
