KOLKATA: The West Bengal police on Saturday recovered a huge cache of explosives in Bhatpara in North 24 Parganas district.
The explosives include crude bombs, bomb-making equipment, gun powder, and bullets.
A case under the Explosive Substances Act and Arms Act has been registered.
Polling in the Bhatpara constituency in North 24 Parganas will be held in the sixth phase of the state assembly polls on April 22.
The Election Commission has intensified vigilance across the state ever since polls in the state have been declared. West Bengal has a history of violence during elections.
Meanwhile, union home minister, Amit Shah will address six public programs in the state.

Out of the six public programs, he will participate in three road shows.
The first four phases of the eight-phased elections took place on March 27, April 1, April 6, and April 10. Counting of the votes will take place on May 2.
