NEW DELHI: India has become the fastest country in the world to administer 14 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine in just 99 days.
According to the union minister of health and family welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan minister, more than 24 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the country before 8 p.m. on April 24.

According to the sources, the estimate total number of COVID19 vaccine doses administered in the country is 14,08,02,794.
These include 1,19,42,233 Frontline Staff (FLWs) (1st dose), 62,77,797 FLWs (2nd dose), 4,76,41,992 for over 45 years old to 60 years old (first dose), 23,22,480 for over 45 years old to 60 years old (second dose), 4,96,32,245 for over 60 years old (first dose) and 77,02,025 for above 60 years old (second dose).
According to the provisional study, 15,69,631 beneficiaries received the first dose of the vaccine and 8,53,358 beneficiaries received the second dose.
Meanwhile, the national COVID-19 mortality rate has decreased to 1.14 percent, according to the union health ministrer on Saturday.
The death toll stood at 1,66,10,481 with 2,624 fatalities recorded in 24 hours, with Maharashtra having the most (773) and Delhi having the fewest (348).
The total active caseload in India has reached 25,52,940, accounting for 15.37% of the country's total positive cases. In the last 24 hours, a net incline of 1,24,324 cases was reported from the total active caseload.
