India logs over 3.52 lakh fresh COVID-19 cases, 2812 deaths in 24 hours

NEW DELHI: The country surpassed the 3.5 lakh mark with 3,52,991 new cases recorded in just 24 hours , there were 2812 deaths and 2,19,272 discharges, according to the union health minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan.

The COVID-19 case count in India continues to rise alarmingly with new single-day records being set and broken on a daily basis.

Even as the death toll approaches three thousand mark, the country has reported more than three lakh cases for the fourth day in a row (a global record).

With this, India's total active caseload has risen to just over 28 lakh people.

Maharashtra continues to lead the tally with over seven lakh active cases as of Monday morning. However, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu have all passed the one lakh mark in terms of total active cases.

With 2,97,616 active incidents, Uttar Pradesh is second only to Maharashtra.
