GUWAHATI: Indrajit Mahanty has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court and Ranjit V More as the Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court by the President of India.
Mahanty was serving as a Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court earlier.
On the other hand, Ranjit V More was a judge in Meghalaya HC.

A total of five HC judges were transferred and eight judges were newly appointed as Chief Justices in this process.
"In exercise of the power conferred under the Constitution of India, Hon'ble President of India, in consultation with Hon'ble Chief Justice of India, is pleased to appoint following Judges as Chief Justices of High Courts along with transfer of following Chief Justices," said the order.
