Merely days after a Kuki man was assaulted by Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isaak-Muivah) on suspicions of being a "spy", 2 Rongmei Naga men were reportedly thrashed by underground Kuki rebels on February 25 in Ukhrul district of Manipur.
The two Rongmei Naga men were reportedly beaten black and blue by Kuki National Army (KNA) underground rebels in the morning when they were on the way to Sinakeithei village via Ukhrul district. One is IRB and the other guy is civilian.
Locals have reported that the two men were on their way to Changta village near Sinakeithei village and were carrying a sick lady with them. They were intercepted by 3 KNA underground rebels who were carrying arms driving a blue colored A Star car who proceeded to thrash them brutally.

The Rongmeis managed to escape and ran through Sinakeithei village. The villagers helped them with first aid and proper medication and took them to Imphal for treatment. The two Rongmei victims are in a serious conditions and have admitted to a hospital.
It may be recalled that earlier, a certain Seikhohao Haokip of Phaimol village in Manipur was summoned from his home at around 3 pm by the NSCN (IM) based in Kamjong district to repair a Myanmarese Kenbobike. However, he was reportedly thrashed as soon as he reached the office on allegations of being affiliated to the insurgent group KLA. The NSCN maintains that the Manipur man is a "spy" and has placed him under house arrest.
