IMPHAL: Assam Rifles personnel accompanied by a narcotics detection dog name ‘Saaz’ recovered a huge cache of contraband in Manipur’s Churachandpur district recently.

 

The seized contraband includes heroin valued at approximately Rs 4.5 crore.

 

“#AssamRifles in Manipur apprehended a drug peddler from Churachandpur District on 15Mar recovering Heroin worth approx Rs 4.5Cr. Narcotics Detection Dog naming ‘Saaz’ accompanying the Assam Rifles team played an important role in successful recovery of high value contraband,” Assam Rifle tweeted two days after the Monday's seizure.

On the other hand, Manipur police on the same day arrested two women -- as Sagolshem Subadhani Devi (50) and Sagolshem Mema Devi (48), suspected to be drug dealers from the Yairipok post office area in Imphal.

 

Police have also recovered 5 kg of opium and other belongings from their possession.
