MANIPUR: MINISTER NEMCHA KIPGEN INSPECTS INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

As assured for better and up-to-date infrastructures during the last visit, Social Welfare Minister Smt. Nemcha Kipgen today inspected the newly renovated infrastructural development of the Government Ideal Blind School and Directorate of Social Welfare buildings. The retrofitting work of the Directorate of Social Welfare building was taken up to provide easy access to differently-abled persons.

Briefing the media, Minister Nemcha Kipgen expressed contentment on witnessing the improved condition of the Government Ideal Blind School campus and Social Welfare Directorate building as compared to her last visit, a year back and at the same time, she stated that there are still some loopholes to look into and take action; for this, cooperation from the concerned officials are required to bring it to her notice, she added.

During the visit, Nemcha interacted with the students of the Blind School and encouraged them to give their best in their academics as well as in co-curricular activities and not to hesitate to raise their concerns and grievances, if there is any. She also advised the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school to cooperate with the students and deliver the best for them.

While addressing the officials and officers of the Social Welfare Department, Minister Nemcha encouraged them to extend selfless and untiring service to people as the department through its various schemes is intertwined with person’s entire life Cycle.

On this occasion, Smt. Nemcha Kipgen along with Secretary & Director, Social Welfare Smt. Jacintha Lazarus also planted saplings at the campus of Government Ideal Blind School, Observation & Special Home for Juvenile and Directorate of Social Welfare to mark the World Environment Day 2018 and encouraged the students, staffs and officials to instil the habit of planting and nurturing plants/trees for a clean and safe environment.
