Manipur records 72 new COVID-19 cases; highest single day spike since January

IMPHAL: As many as 72 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur over the past 24 hours, the highest single-day spike since January this year.

This takes the total number of active cases in the state to 255. The cumulative number of cases also went up to 29,721.

Of the fresh cases, 21 are Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel while the remaining 51, including 26 women, are civilians.

Meanwhile, the Manipur government has revised the timing of night curfew in the state. The night curfew will now be in place from 7 pm to 5 am, effective from today

Earlier on April 17, the Manipur government had imposed night curfew from 8 pm to 4 am.
