Manipur | Youth Arrested for Possession of 2 Kgs of Opium

Imphal, June 29, 2019

A youth has been arrested on the charge of unauthorized possession of contraband opium in six packets in Manipur on Friday by a team of the Civil Defence Organization (CDO) of Manipur's Thoubal district.

The arrested youth has been identified as Winnerson Keishing. He was apprehended along with 2 kg of Opium from Ngamukhong near suspension bridge in Thoubal district.

The youth along with the seized items has been handed over to Nongpok Sekmai Police Station for further investigation.

Meanwhile, in yet another setback to the drugs trade in Manipur, a combined team Thoubal Police and Civil Defence Organizations conducted a search operation at the house of Aribam Ajit alias Aziz Khan and recovered 30 bottles of RC Kuff cough syrup containing 10 mg Codine, 550 numbers of WY tablets and one two wheeler.

However, the accused managed to escape from the scene.
