NEW DELHI: Former Prime Minister Manamohan Singh has been diagnosed with dengue fever, but his health is improving and he is out of danger now, said an All India Institute Of Medical Science (AIIMS) official today.

According to the official, the former Prime Minister and the veteran Congress politician's "platelets are increasing and he is out of danger."

After complaining of fever and weakness, Singh was admitted to the AIIMS on Wednesday evening.

He had fever three days prior and had been feeling weak, so he was rushed to AIIMS.

The former Prime Minister is being treated by team of specialists led by Nitish Nayak, well-known cardiologist.

Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Health Minister, also paid him visit and inquired about his health.

Singh was also hospitalised to the AIIMS after testing positive for COVID -19 during the second wave of the epidemic in April of this year.
