Manni Konyak makes history, becomes first woman VDB secretary from Mon

MON: At a time when women are beginning to outperform their male counterparts in almost all disciplines, Manni Konyak has become the latest from Northeast India to break the proverbial glass ceiling.

The Wangti village under Chen block of Mon district of Nagaland for the first time in history elected Manni Konyak as the new Secretary of Village Development Board (VDB).

She has officially created history by being the first woman from the Mon district to be elected as VDB secretary.

Manni is a graduate who is an expert in computer programming.

She is currently serving as Vice President of Chen Area Students' Union (CASU).
