Meghalaya: 1 more corona positives, state tally reaches 28 cases

Meghalaya has reported 1 new coronavirus case taking the total to 28 cases on May 29, 2020. The patient, who returned from Uttarakhand has tested Positive for COVID19. The person is under quarantine in South West Garo Hills District. The total positive cases 28 and total active cases 15.

Taking stock of the situation, the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma tweeted

Meghalaya has cases as more stranded migrants return to the state. Earlier, Meghalaya has reported 6 new COVID-19 cases taking the total to 27 cases on May 29, 2020. Out of the 6 patients, 3 are from South West Garo H, 1 from West Garo H, 1 from East Khasi H, and 1 from West Khasi H.

All the patients had a travel history. They had come from Maharashtra, Bangalore, West Bengal and Chennai.

Arunachal Pradesh and Northeast

Arunachal Pradesh has the 6th highest COVID-19 cases in the Northeast. Assam has the highest cases while Tripura has registered 318 cases followed by 43 in Nagaland.

India cases so far

The novel coronavirus has infected over 1.9 lakh people and claimed over 5394 lives as on June 1st, 2020, morning, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. There are 93322 active cases with 91819 cases discharged and cured.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 2 thousand deaths. It has recorded 67655 corona cases with 29329 cured and 2286 deaths. The western state is followed by Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Gujarat has corona 16779 cases with 9919 cured and 1038 deaths. Tamil Nadu has registered 22333 cases with 12757 cured and 173 deaths. The National Capital with 19844 COVID-19 cases has crossed the 10 thousand mark on May 25th, 2020. So far, 8478 have been cured in Delhi with 473 deaths.
