SHILLONG: The Supreme court of India today issued the transfer order of Justice Biswanath Somadder, Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court.

Somadder had been serving as the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court since April 2020.

The Apex court proposed the present Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court be transferred to become the next Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court.

Meanwhile, Justice Ranjit Vasantrao More, Judge of the Meghalaya High Court, will be the Chief Justice of

Meghalaya High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.

The appointment comes after the former Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court, Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari, was elevated as the judge of the Supreme Court.
