The Government of Meghalaya believes that this kind of platform will enable the entrepreneurs of Meghalaya and the food processors of Meghalaya to "take advantage" of the network that is coming, and provide a boost for them.
The initiative is expected to help make the young entrepreneurs and food processing industry of the Northeast shine on the world stage, in front of a global audience.
It may be mentioned here that the Global Food Marketplace (French: Salon International de l’alimentation, or SIAL) is a trade fair held every two years, which specializes in the food processing industry. This event was first held in 1964, in Paris, and is now being held in different corners of the globe.
