SHILLONG: The Meghalaya government has issued a fresh set of guidelines ahead of Durga Puja celebration in the state and prohibited partaking of prasad in pandals during Durga Puja.

There will be no sitting down and partaking of prasad, said the recently issued standard operating procedure (SOP).

"Only packed dry prasad could be distributed among devotees and visitors. There will be no lunch or serving of cooked food," the SOP stated further.

The organisers were also directed to make idols below five feet of height and should be in one frame. Devotees were prohibited from touching the idols as well.
