Balajied Synrem, the UDP candidate, filed his nomination for the by-polls to the Shella Assembly Constituency today. He filed his nomination to SDO Civil Sohra and RO Shella.
Meanwhile, the National People's Party (NPP) have decided not to field any candidates for the upcoming by-election in Shella constituency.
The NPP Meghalaya State Unit also informed that the party will support the UDP candidate, Balajied Kupar Synrem, who is the son of late Speaker Dr. Donkupar Roy.
It is to be mentioned, that the Congress party has nominated Batyngshain Laitmon Ryngnga as the party candidate for the bye-election to the 26-Shella Assembly Constituency.
The by-poll to the Shella assembly constituency will be held on October 21 the Election Commission of India. The last date of filing of nomination papers is September 30. The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on October 1 and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is October 3.
