SHILLONG: The Tirot Sing Memorial Hospital in Mairang of Meghalaya's West Khasi Hills district has been awarded the Kayakalp Award 2021.

 

The award was given to the hospital in the civil hospital category.

Tirot Sing Memorial Hospital is a district hospital in Sangshong, which is 45.6 km from here.

 

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma congratulated the staff on his Twitter handle “Tirot Sing Memorial Hospital in #Mairang receives the #KayakalpAward, 2021 in the Civil Hospital category. Big congratulations to the entire staff for their commitment to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the Hospital.”

 

On May 15, 2015, the then Union health and family welfare minister J P Nadda launched the Kayakalp Award Scheme as an extension of the "Swachh Bharat Mission."

 

The aim of this programme is to enhance and encourage cleanliness, sanitation, waste management, and infection prevention practises in public healthcare facilities, as well as to recognise and reward the best performers. The aim of the programme is to inspire people to try new things.
