AIZAWL: Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga has called for a meeting of all political parties, civil society groups, students' bodies, doctors' associations and a church body on July 2 to have discussion on the current COVID scenario of the state.
Reportedly, the meeting will be held at 11 am in the assembly conference hall in Aizawl in the presence of state assembly speaker, health minister and the home minister.

"The summoning of the meeting is a follow-up to the resolution passed at the joint meeting of all political parties, NGOs and churches convened by Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA) in Aizawl on June 24," an official notification said.
The state currently stands at 19,819 cases of COVID-19 with 4432 active cases. A total of 15295 patients have recovered while 92 people succumbed to the virus.
In a bid to contain the spread of the virus, the state government imposed lockdown in Aizawl and other parts till June 30.
