AIZAWL: The Mizoram government on Saturday extended the total lockdown in Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) till for one more week till August 7.
The decision was taken to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the Municipal areas.

The ongoing shutdown was scheduled to be lifted on Saturday.
Last week, the state government in an official release, said the present COVID-19 positive detection rate is "extremely high" despite stringent measures taken to arrest rising cases.
The state, so far has recorded 37171 with 11284. A total of 25744 patients have recovered while the 143 persons died due to the virus.
