AIZAWL: Mizoram registered 144 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 8,176.
According to a statement released by the state information and public relations department, three cases were confirmed at TrueNat laboratories, while 141 cases were identified during the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).

Of the total new cases, Aizawl district topped with 86 new cases followed by Champhai district (32), Kolasib (13), Serchhip (5), Lawngtlai (3) three, Lunglei (1), and two each in Siaha and Mamit districts.
COVID-19 has also been found in over 23 children and seven senior citizens.
According to the statement, two patients have a travel history, while the remaining 142 were contracted the infection locally.
82 patients have developed COVID-19 symptoms, while the other 62 are asymptomatic.
Mizoram currently has 2,033 active COVID cases.
A total of 6,120 people infected with the virus have been recovered from the infection.
So far, at least 23 people have died due to the infection.
As many as 1,961 samples were tested during the period, bringing the total number of COVID tests 3,39,065.
