Myanmar delegates call on Manipur Governor, discuss issues

Imphal, February 14, 2019:

Delegates from Myanmar called on Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla at Raj Bhavan, Imphal today. The Delegation team comprising of 14 members will be visiting Bodh Gaya, Delhi, and Lumbini.

During the interaction, the delegation team expressed concerns regarding the problems like frequent frisking/checking by security forces, faced by tourists from Myanmar visiting Manipur. The team also expressed their desire for Visa on Arrival and Online Visa application facilities for Myanmar tourist visiting India. Governor also gave her assurance to look into the matter.

Yumnam Khemchand Singh, Manipur Legislative speaker, and RK Shivachandra, Convener, Act East Policy Committee, Manipur, were also present during the interaction.
