The Naga People's Front (NPF) party's 22-Arkakong Assembly Constituency unit under Mokokchung district yesterday merged with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland state unit.
According to a press release, State BJP President and Minister of Higher & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along while addressing the official merger program at Chuchuyimlang village termed it as historic, and welcomed the joining of NPF members along with their leader, former minister Nuklutoshi.
Maintaining that the Narendra Modi-led Government at the Centre has more than 140 schemes to accommodate and help poor people, Along called upon the Naga people to start voting for the saffron unit and strengthen the party further.
Citing the signing of the Framework Agreement between the Centre and the NSCN (IM), he said that the BJP is a party that truly cares for the Naga people.
Former Minister Nuklutoshi, Advisor for Treasuries and Accounts, National Highway, Dr. Longrineken, NEPED Chairman Kevechutso Duolo, MARCOFED Chairman Dr. Chuba, and Nagaland BJP Spokesperson O. Lanu Tsudir also addressed the gathering.
