The committee further advised the jail authorities to make sure that the inmates are closely monitored and ensure safe transit of the released inmates. They also recommended the deputy commissioner identify a suitable place to set up a COVID care center for lodging asymptomatic UT prisoners.

The committee said that no UTP in Wokha required immediate medical attention as per the meeting held on June 9. Also, none of the prisoners were found eligible for bail.

Similarly, none of the UTPs in the Zunheboto district were recommended for release. Currently, the district jail constitutes 16 UTPs and 3 convicts.

A separate COVID care center with proper security will be set up as recommended by the committee.
