DIMAPUR: C Sashi Naga, Eastern Nagaland People's Organisation (ENPO) president, has passed away on Sunday.
ENPO is a political party that demanding for a separate state of Eastern Nagaland.
According to reports, he had tested COVID-19 positive and died after suffering a cardiac arrest in Dimapur at about 12.30 a.m.

He was elected president of the ENPO on March 31, 2021. His tenure was in office from 2021 to 2023. Naga was president, Manalang Phom was general secretary and there were 64 members of the central executive council (CEC) from the six tribes on the new team.
“Deepest condolences to the family of late C. Sashi Naga, President of Eastern Nagaland Public Organisation (ENPO), the ENPO family and to all his well-wishers”, Chief minister Neiphui Rio tweeted.
Former Chief Minister of Nagaland TR Zeliang also tweeted, ‘Deeply grieved to learn about the sudden demise of C. Sashi Naga, President ENPO. A gentleman who dedicated his life to the welfare of the people & especially for the region of ENPO. Served in various capacities throughout his life, he shall be fondly remembered. My condolences.’
The ENPO has announced half-day mourning in Eastern Nagaland.
On Monday, his funeral will be held in Dimapur.
