Nagaland extends COVID induced lockdown measures and guidelines till October 31

KOHIMA: The COVID-19 induced lockdown measures and guidelines in Nagaland have been extended till October 31, according to NagalandPost report.

This was decided by the state government in a review meeting hold on September 28 by the State High Powered Committee (HPC) hold under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

The SoP regarding this will be issued by the HPC ahead of the approaching festive season, said HPC spokeswoman and planning and coordination minister Neiba Kronu.

The HPC has also decided to allow the opening of all educational institutions, including pre-primary levels, beginning November 1 if the overall COVID-19 situation improves, said Kronu.

As previously stated, he stated that the reopening of schools for grades 5 to 10 will take place on October 1.

Religious/worship locations, sporting events, and other large groups have been given permission to function at full capacity, subject to strict adherence to the established SOPs and Covid proper behavior.

Moreover, the HPC has also decided to relax the night curfew by one hour and would be in force from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., while trains and entrance gates at Dimapur will continue to be monitored at Dimapur
