KOHIMA: With the decreasing number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the state, the High Powered Committee (HPC) on COVID-19 led by chief minister Neiphiu Rio yesterday decided to relax a number of restrictions on various activities in the state.
According to report, the committee has approved the re-opening of the primary section of classes one to five in schools.
The school education department is expected to issue a notification in this regard soon.
The commercial transport service would now run normally in the state, said a spokesperson for HPC and minister, Neiba Kronu.

Government offices were previously set at 50% attendance, but now they will operate with maximum attendance, as well as enclosed spaces such as theatre halls and sports facilities, which will resume regular operations.
The decision was taken as things began to normalise and pointed out that other states too were relaxing COVID-19 protocols, minister Kronu added.
HPC further relaxed persons/tourists entering Nagaland and only those with symptoms will be subjected to a medical examination.
He stated that the State government would now allow some kind of exhibition, but that COVID standard operating procedure would have to be followed as before.
