Nagaland govt imposes additional lockdown provisions citing COVID situation

KOHIMA: After the extension of lockdown the Government of Nagaland has issued additional provisions for lockdown measures from June 19th-30th today.

J Alam, Nagaland Chief Secretary, has issued a fresh set of additional provisions and also directed respective District Task Forces (DTFs) to take additional stricter measures in their respective districts/areas, based on local conditions for containing the spread of COVID-19.

Alam has informed that the COVID situation of the state has been reviewed by a High Powered Committee on COVID-19, in a meeting held on June 16, where it's been established that the positivity rate of COVID-19 in the state remains high.

The positivity rate is as high as 5 per cent in all the districts of the state.

Also, after taking Health & Family Welfare Department and the District Task Force's views on the situation, Alam has instructed that the existing lockdown measures shall continue to remain in force in the State from June 19th till June 30th, 2021, with additional provisions.

In these additional provisions, there would be a total ban on the movement of individuals/vehicles from 04.00 PM to 05.00 AM every day, across the State except for reasons/ purposes and for those who are permitted to move as per the existing lockdown measures, as mentioned in the notification.
