Nagaland reports more recoveries of COVID patients than new cases today

DIMAPUR: Nagaland reported more recoveries of COVID-19 patients than new cases throughout the day.

While 277 people infected with the virus have been recovered, 103 cases were reported in the state.

Of the new cases, Dimapur reported 24, followed by Kiphire 1, Kohima 20, Mokokchung 11, Mon 1, Peren 9, Phek 7, Tuensang 16, Wokha 6 and Zunheboto 8.

Among the recoveries, Dimapur registered 48, Kiphire 5, Kohima 105, Longleng 2, Mokokchung 37, Mon 1, Peren 1, Phek 1, Tuensang 69, and Zunheboto 8.

Moreover, no death was reported due to the virus during the day, said the State Health and Family Welfare Department.

Meanwhile, state chief minister Neiphiu Rio inaugurated an oxygen generation plant at Phek district hospital today.

CM Rio thanked the United Nations Development Programme India (UNDP) and the Government of Japan for installing the oxygen generation plant in Phek district.

"We are indebted for this help, the one that strengthens our health facility and furthers our ability to be able to succeed in mitigating this unprecedented health crisis,” he said.
