DIMAPUR: The Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) of Nagaland has demanded free admissions for the children from nursery up to class VI.

The organization said as per the Right to Education (RTE) Act 2006, admission for children up to class VI must be free of cost at schools established under its purview.

In a statement, CCSU president C Pongsu and general secretary Ebou Naset insisted that admissions be completed within 10 days of the State government's notification being released, and warned to take stern action against schools that delayed resuming classes for the academic session as per the government's notification.

They also asserted that under any circumstances CCSU would not entertain any proxy teacher under its purview and that all teachers should return to their respective places of posting on or before March 5.

Based on the government's notification, it prohibited any form of taxation on employees, contractual staff, and others employed by educational institutions within its jurisdiction.

The confederation urged employees of all government departments under its control to return to their work stations, warning that if anyone was found neglecting his duties, it would take necessary action.
