DIMAPUR: The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) is going to introduce vocational education programmes from class 9 to class 12 for the next academic session of 2022.
The programme will be an optional subject in classe 9 and class 10 and an elective subject in classes 11 and class 12.
The competency-based curriculum and syllabus for vocational education has been adapted from those developed by Pandit Sunderlal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational Education in Bhopal.
In this regard, the NBSE has urged registered schools to take the lead in implementing vocational education in their schools in order to meet the skills needed for their students.

The application form for the vocational education has been uploaded in the portal www.nbsenl.edu.in in the forms section.
The courses to be introduced are domestic data entry operator (Information Technology Enabled Services sector), food and beverage service trainee (Tourism and Hospitality sector), store operation assistant (Retail sector), assistant beauty therapist (Beauty and Wellness sector), field technician–other home appliances (Electronics and Hardware sector), solanaceous crop cultivator (Agriculture sector) and automotive service technician (Automotive sector)
