DIMAPUR: The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has called for a 6-hour total shutdown in all Naga inhabited areas today in protest against the actions of the Indian armed forces.

The bandh will commence from 6 a.m. till 12 noon. Medical, emergency services, police, weddings (with cards), students appearing exams have been exempted from the purview of the bandh.

It also urged all to refrain from participating in Hornbill Festival, stating that it was not in de-fiance of any forces, but as a symbolic expression of resentment towards the government that has failed to protect its own people.

NSF has also appealed to the Naga people cutting across artificial boundaries to refrain from any sort of merry making/festivities for the next five 5 days and to join in observing a 5-day mourning period w.e.f. December 6.

It also directed all federating units and sub-ordinate bodies directed to severe ties with any Indian armed forces until befitting punishments were awarded to the culprits.

The federation conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and assured continued solidarity and prayer support.
